Edinburgh Steroid Clinic

We are changing the way we work…

The Edinburgh Steriod Clinic was initially set up to provide a service for people using image and performance enhancing drugs (IPEDs). Over the years we have seen an increase in the number of people attending the clinic as they are taking hormones for a number of reasons including gender related issues. Due to this increase we are changing the way that we work in a bid to offer the most appropriate service in relation to the clinic times available.

From Monday 6th November appointments for bloods only will now be offered on a pre-booking basis rather than a drop-in basis. We will be offering appointments on the first Monday evening of every month (1700 – 1930). Each appointment will last 15 minutes; we would ask that you arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to your appointment and please do not bring friends with you. In order to offer the service to as many as possible, blood testing will be limited to every 6 months per person. Repeat appointments will not be bookable at the time of attendance.

We will request your address on attendance and results will be posted to you. If you have not received your results within 2 weeks please contact the Spittal Street Centre.

The changes to our service are being developed so that we can continue to offer the best care for those who need it. We need to be able to do this safely, for us and for you.

Apart from the above change the clinic will continue as normal every Monday for harm reduction around IPED use and continue to operate both a drop-in and appointment system.

Please be aware if too many people attend in any one drop-in session, they may be asked to reattend on another evening

Please call reception on 0131 537 8300 to book an appointment or with any queries.
